Fitness enthusiast and reviewer from Paris

The Short Version

I go by Louis Moreau, living in Paris, and I have spent several years chronicling my visits to gyms across France.

This site came about because I grew tired of selecting gyms from ads and broad recommendations, only to find the reality didn't match expectations. I sought concrete, candid details about what these places were really like. When I couldn't find them, I chose to build them myself.

How This Started

My workout routine began at a small club near 12 Rue de la Sante in Paris. It wasn't flawless, but it was accessible, affordable, and it helped me stay consistent.

After that place shut down, I saw how fast the fitness landscape in France was changing. New clubs emerged, new ideas appeared, and marketing grew louder than actual member experiences.

I began testing various gyms and classes, jotting notes after each visit. Those notes gradually formed this site, created to help others make better-informed choices.

My Approach to Reviews

Each review here reflects genuine visits and time spent inside the facility. I emphasize practical details that matter when selecting a membership.

When I review a fitness center, I typically:

  • Spend adequate time to grasp routines, peak times, and trends
  • Visit on various days and at different times
  • Experiment with multiple training formats and coaches
  • Regularly use amenities to assess cleanliness and comfort
  • Chat with other members about what's consistent and what's not
  • Jot down notes right after each visit

I revise reviews when major changes occur: renovations, leadership changes, price updates, or new facilities. Each article displays its latest update date so you can gauge how current the information remains.

What I Look For

My priorities may differ from yours, so here is what I consider most important when assessing a gym:

Comfort and Privacy: Does the space feel thoughtfully designed for members, with respectful boundaries and a tranquil vibe?

Equipment Quality: Are machines well-maintained? Is there sufficient variety? Are repairs handled promptly?

Crowd Management: Are you able to train at your preferred times without constant waiting?

Clean Facilities: Locker rooms, showers, floors, and equipment surfaces. Cleanliness indicates how seriously management regards the member experience.

Transparent Membership Practices: Clear pricing, clear rules, and no unwelcome surprises.

Beyond the Gym

Outside of training and writing, I live and work in Paris. This project aims to simplify fitness decisions and make the environment more transparent for those seeking the right setting.
